Rowan has arrived!

 

Since Love Wool opened its doors in 2016, I have wanted to stock Rowan yarns and at long last my dream has become a reality……which makes me very happy!

As you know Rowan is synonymous with natural high quality fibres and yarn shades that can be translated into timeless designs.  I have long since had a love affair with Rowan and have allowed myself to enjoy the infinite pleasure of working with ‘real wool’.  The reason I say ‘allowed’  is because sometimes it seems like we need permission to work with the good stuff but I have to say, it makes me feel really wholesome especially when I combine the experience with some beautiful wooden needles.  It’s almost as if it is how it was meant to be and in fact for many years before modern man made fibre technology was invented this is how it was for our grandmothers and great grandmothers.

Don’t get me wrong, all yarns have their place and man made yarns have certainly spiced up our knitting and crochet experience with everything from pom-pom to faux fur yarns but it is so important that we stop to take time to enjoy where is all began, with a product that ironically fits in with todays ideals, as natural fibres such as wool, cotton, mohair and alpaca are sustainable resources, renewable and biodegradable.

We have 7 Rowan yarns in our collection, Felted Tweed, Felted Tweed Colours, Baby Cashsoft Merino, Tweed Haze, Alpaca Classic, Pure Wool Superwash Worsted and Kid Classic but hopefully our range will expand and this is where you come in, if you show that you are also passionate about Rowan and natural fibres then the range will grow.
