About Us
Love wool opened its doors on 15th September 2016 and in doing so my lifelong obsession and passion for wool found its ultimate outlet. This obsession has continued to grow, leading to a move to a larger bricks and mortar shop in October 2021. Now, it is my personal mission to spread my contagious enthusiasm for all things wooly, and in doing so, offer friendly, warm, quality service to all our customers.
meet the teamLove wool is a haven of wooly loveliness for wool addicts everywhere. We have a bricks and mortar shop in Portadown, Northern Ireland where we passionately share our love of wool with our local community and beyond. In our quest to spread the love of wool, we offer social classes, beginner classes and a range of workshops designed to extend knitting, crochet and wool craft skills. These are held in our dedicated workshop room affectionately known as ‘The Wool Cave’ You can click here to find out more about our classes and booking them.
A large part of our yarn shop experience at love wool is to offer choice. Thanks to my massive wooly addiction our shop is stocked with yarns by Sirdar, Stylecraft, King Cole, Scheepjes, Rowan, Sublime, James C Brett, Hoooked, West Yorkshire Spinners, Bernat and Caron, as well as hand-dyed skeins by Truly Hooked, twines and cords by Nutscene and TOFT kits. I am always on the lookout for exciting new yarns.
Wooly accessories are a must at love wool. We offer a wide selection of haberdashery items including Pony and Knit Pro needles and hooks, along with some fabulous Fleabubs & Lala handmade crochet hooks. Love wool has gift ideas galore with a selection of crochet and knitting books, yarn bags, hook and needle storage cases, project kits, luxury needles and hooks, as well as the flexibility of a love wool gift voucher.
