Colour Burst Shawl Workshop
Ready to take your knitting beyond the basics? In this Colour Burst Shawl workshop, you’ll learn how to shape your knitting with simple increases and decreases, essential skills that open the door to creating garments, toys, and more.
Designed for knitters who already know the basics, this relaxed and friendly workshop is the perfect next step in your knitting journey. All materials are included, so you can simply come along, settle into the cosy atmosphere, meet fellow knitting enthusiasts, and enjoy learning something new.
We’ve allowed three hours for this workshop so you can practise increasing and decreasing with confidence and plenty of support. While you may not finish the shawl during the session, you’ll leave with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to complete it at home.
PLEASE NOTE: You must be able to cast on, cast off and complete knit stitches, the workshop is not suitable for a beginner.
This workshop is being delivered by Allison Shilliday, a lifelong knitter whose mother and grandmother passed on their skills.

PLEASE NOTE: This class is primarily for participants aged 16+. Children under 16 may be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided they are accompanied by an adult and we are notified prior to booking. Please note that we can accommodate only one under 16 per class, and they must be comfortable participating in a group of adults.

Workshop Terms & Conditions
Love Wool Event Cancellation Policy
- If you need to cancel your place on a workshop, unfortunately, the following cancellation charges apply and you will need to contact us directly to discuss your cancellation: – Cancellation 14+ days before the workshop date: 50% of workshop fee unless we are able to resell the place. – Cancellation less than 14 days before the workshop date: 100% of workshop fee unless we are able to resell the place.
- If you do need to cancel you are welcome to send another person in your place instead. This does not incur any fee. Please just advise us of your replacement’s name and contact details as soon as possible.
- If for any reason you are unable to attend, please contact us and we will try to find someone to take your place. Love Wool is not bound to find a replacement but we can try to find someone as a goodwill gesture. If we find someone to take your place, we can either issue a refund or transfer you on to a later date or another class of your choice.
- In the event of non-attendance without prior notification, no refunds will be given.
- For weekly courses, due to limited places and high demand, any missed classes cannot be carried over / refunded.
Cancellation By Us
- We reserve the right to cancel or move a class or workshop due to unforeseen circumstances including illness.
- Where a course is cancelled, we will contact you as soon as possible.
- We will offer you a place on an alternative workshop. If this workshop is not suitable for any reason then your fees will be refunded.
- Unfortunately, we cannot be held liable for any out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of class cancellation.
- The tutor is subject to change at any time.
